MLoatman's thoughts are right on. These machines could well be the flashpoint for a post-election debacle of the sort I spoke of earlier this week.
Sam Smith at the Progressive Review (far and away my favorite lefty website) says the election will hinge on three things this year: 1) Whether evangelicals are sufficiently disillusioned to stay home; 2) Whether minorities and young people are sufficeintly motivated to vote in larger numbers than usual; 3) The dirty tricks with the voting machines.
