Forbes on Crack?

…for letting this article run. Don't even know what you call it. Neanderthal shock journalism?

The responses to it are almost more entertaining than the piece itself. It's as if some marketing genius said, "Hmm, what percentage of Forbes' readership is career-oriented women…and how could we get them to cancel all at once…"

I'm curious, though, why they did it. Do they see a benefit to blatant provocation? That old saw about all publicity being good publicity? Or, is the managing editor just blind to brand, or indifferent to what the voice of Forbes should be versus what it shouldn't?
