The long wait is over.  Seven months after its well-received premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, our debt documentary I.O.U.S.A. is ready for its national rollout.

And what an event it will be — simultaneous showings in theaters nationwide on Thursday August 21, followed immediately by a live-via-satellite Q&A session with three of the film's principals: Warren Buffett, Pete Peterson, and David Walker.

Here's where you can get tickets.  On the right side of the page is a box where you can type in your ZIP code.  Then you'll be given a list of nearby theaters where the film and discussion will be shown.

The timing for this debut could not be more critical.  It's just four days before the first of the silly-season political conventions gets underway.  Neither major-party candidate is saying squat about the $9.5 trillion national debt (to say nothing of the Social Security/Medicare obligations, which bring the figure somewhere north of $50 trillion).  But with Obama supporter Buffett and McCain supporter Peterson both behind this effort, that could start to change.  (I.O.U.S.A. is an integral part of a $1 billion public awareness campaign Peterson has launched to bring attention to the debt.)

We've had a ton of inquiries over the past several months as I.O.U.S.A. was put through its paces — first at Sundance, later at the Maryland Film Festival, and most recently last week at the Agora Financial Investment Symposium in Vancouver: "When will I get a chance to see it?"  Now's your chance.  Order here to see it in a theater near you.
