12/08/10 Alexandria, Virgina — The co-chairmen of President Barack Obama’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform — former Wyoming Senator Alan Simpson and University of North Carolina President Erksine Bowles — have called for increasing taxes and cutting spending in order to trim some $4 trillion from the nation’s budget over the next ten years.
Predictably, the plan will never see the light of day, as the commission failed to get the votes required for Congress to even take a look at the recommendations. At least both parties can come to an agreement on some matters… such as the “adult stuff” highlighted below.
