An annual revisit to the land of conventional wisdom

It's a little presumptuous to offer up anniversary commemorations of one's own blogposts, but that's not what I presume to do today.

Rather, I invite you to review something I wrote on this day a year ago, looking back on a front-page Wall Street Journal article from this day in 1995, predicting our glorious future of economic growth and boundless middle class prosperity.

Enjoy this little trip down memory lane, to the days when new-economy optimism was setting in… ordinary folks were just starting to pile into stocks in a big way (a sure sign the top of a secular bull market was just four or five years away)… and Windows 95 was still a few months in the future.

What I wrote a year ago still pretty much stands.  Check back next year.
