Bill,Enjoyed your comments about gold. I would like to fill you in on a very unique Joint Venture project I am involved with in the Gold Ore Concentrate arena. The recovery results that our metallurgist is getting is staggering. You would not believe it if I told you the yields per ton. Would you email me so I can fill you in?

In 1965 I learned about karma. It is not about "good" or "bad", but I could see that its effects are vast and very long lasting. It was clear then that our economic desires were self-destructive.
So here we are.
A broken financial system and a broken eco-system. We have no choice but to experience its full course and forget about blame. We, after all, were the cause. Seriously. We will be healthy only when we accept responsibility for it and let go of it.

Wow what a great read, nice one Bill! Putting some of these big scammers behind bars or at the very least finig them would be a nice start to bring some justice to the whole fiasco.

I have heard much about how stock indices regularly shuffle the stocks that are in the index. Can you point me to any hard data or reports that show this shuffling?

I liked yesterdays 5 min. "With that in mind, “It may be necessary to temporarily nationalize some banks,” uttered Alan Greenspan yesterday, “in order to facilitate a swift and orderly restructuring.” Incredibly, leaders of the world are still looking to this man for advice."

Gee, if only the Soviets would have had Reserve Currency Status they could have printed their way into prolonged dysfunction as well and we could still have the Cold War and everything would be swell again.

Greenspan, ...doesn't he have a Clarinet to keep him occupied?

bill's firing on all cylinders today and i too, vote for self sufficiency as the only rational response to being chumped by the system. screw the system, screw the middleman for they exist only at the expense of the chumps. people are slowly imo, awakening to the horrors bonner describes so well. as he describes the right/left brain battle of smelling a rat, finding rat turds, finding a rat's nest but never actually sighting the biggest rat in the house - his name is big al and he is from chicago.

okey, doakey - that's just reality and so whats a fella to do? for me, it's simply adopting the attitude of america of 100+ years ago which was being personally responsible for one's well being. no system is going to help you, the system can only screw people and once you see that, the rest is easy.

take up gardening/cooking and home repair as your hobbies. love thy neighbor, you don't have to like them, but they have valuable skills to share. like maybe they can do plumbing while you can maybe chainsaw brush. i mean, how many chainsaws does a neighborhood need? everyone can do something and as times get tougher, the tough get lean and mean with the money machine as they band together in local mini-microeconmies.

yo bill, thanks man, you write so well, at ease in nicaragua. easy reading is hard writing so thanks. we are indeed lucky to have the internet to support our research and development of self sufficiency.

Yup, pretty sad when it's all perfectly legal and everyone's just going to "get away with it".

America's recent bailouts are just the beginning of an unprecedented government spending spree and I agree... they aren't going to do any good. If anything, it's even more reason to own precious metals.

It seems the rush to buy platinum, gold, and silver has gone worldwide, including a recent platinum shortage in Japan and metal shortages in other countries as well. As governments devalue their currencies, this demand (and the prices) will only go higher.

It's a good time to buy precious metals, now that they've broken out of the price bases. Look to buy on dips. The precious metal bull market has lots of room to run and it's starting to take off again.
