Fred's comment is rather perverse - if you lie on the insurance application, it is invalid anyway?

The idea of my doctor having instant access to my medical records is appealing.
But, having the underwriters at a health insurance company looking at the same database is not so appealing.
This is all the more reason to become a medical tourist and to buy your prescriptions from a so-called "Canadian" pharmacy.
Not only do you save money, but the medical industry database is starved for data.
And, it might be wise to avoid mentioning procedures with any specifics to your doctor, since he will record the data in his notes, which could end up in the database.
When he wants to know how you lost 100 lbs. in a year, don't tell him about having "Lap Band" surgery in Brussels or Monterrey... just tell him "diet & exercise".
Likewise, he doesn't need to know that you got your prescriptions filled by a pharmacy in India or "Central Asia".
And, if you look at where your medications are actually being made, you may find that they are coming from Israel or India when you pick up your prescriptions at WalMart. It is a world market.
