They’ve only purchased a tiny $300,000,000,000.00 as of today

Not true. They've announced plans to purchase this amount but so far have only purchased a few billion.

Eventually Mogambo will be correct about gold and silver. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I think oil is a good long term investment. It actually serves a purpose.

Gold is done to death. Everyone is talking about it, everyone is trading it in at gold parties.

Oil yes, gold no....just my opinion.

Everyone may be talking about Gold, but the numbers show that very few actually possess physical gold....maybe they own the ETF GLD or comex futures, or pool accounts....SUCKERS...good luck trying to take possession of the real deal with those OPPs (other peoples promises)

Ah me! Such a conundrum (forgive me, Mo, I know that's the word you use for condom) we are in.

Will be inflate? Will we deflate? Will unemployment get to 25%? 15%? Sorry, Mo, we don't know. If Professor Fekete's figures are right that it takes a huge number of dollars (funny is ok) to produce $1 of GDP then I will agree with you, Mo..

We are freaking doomed. They can print money all they want and they will be destroyed (asset value disappears) faster than the stupid Fed can buy billions and billions of T-Bills (fret not - they've only purchased a tiny $300,000,000,000.00 as of today..

So I bury cash in the back yard next to some gold and silver. The cash is marginal anyhow because you can invest it anywhere with any decent returns.

I used a five dollar bill the other day to like a charcoal fire because it was cheaper than buying a can of fire starter.. There's something there in that action but I can't figure it quite out yet..

I appreciated your article, though it was at times sad (the personal--sorry) and at other times all too realistically tragic.

As to J King's "That does not seem to be the recipe for a great investment."

Where's the better one Jon?

Every commercial on TV is about gold. Every housewife in the neighborhood is talking about gold. Every conversation at the dog park is about gold.

Not sure where you hang out, but everyone I meet has been touting gold for over a year. That does not seem to be the recipe for a great investment.
