They have the uber fiscally chaste Volcker as someone to rub in the face of the Obama craps game and yet , they are more interested in the simple pleasures of drunken staggers. Volcker might be too much of a gentleman to publicly deride Obama for simply trotting him out as window-dressing but he shouldn't hold back because it is quite obvious that these smooth boys are real operators. Somebody needs to call them on their fast and loose confidence and do it before reality unleashes a stemwinder sized whupping on this utterly clueless public. I speak particularly about Singapore and Taiwan. Life is very vibrant even between 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM. Many small mom and pop restaurants serving an amazing variety of delectable goodies and the streets are full of happy and thin people. There is good music everywhere and a large number of delightful clubs with artists performing with talent and from their hearts. Quite different in the US where the sidewalks in just about every major city roll up before 10 PM and the people are holed up in their homes stuffing themselves with additive laden food and sucking in a continuous stream of ridicules and insulting commercials that have no relationship at all to what it means to live. I just cannot understand how people stand for it. I am sure that if some smart dude or dudess comes along and realizes that if he or she just gave people straight quality TV with the commercials at the end (so people can watch them only if they want) the success would be unimaginable (for the commercials also). I love the shows on the History Channel, Discovery, etc., but they kill them with these long long long long commercial breaks. I was watching and my jaw dropped in amazement that they are trying to get away with this. This has got to be the last one, this has got to be the last one, this has got to be the last one, on and on and on. It really kills the program. No matter how good the programming, I would rather be out in the streets of Europe, Asia or Argentina than go through this torture. Enjoy the country! Mars88 Bill,
