@ Kevin:
Funny comment, but "redundant" is not synonym of "unnecessary". They wouldn't become redundant, but rather dispensable. Aircrafts have "redundant" control systems, but believe me, they are not "unnecessary".

Para (7) We note that if we continue this discussion to its ultimate conclusion we will have succeeded in draining Bills coffers successfully to the extent that setting up the aforesaid structures will become redundant and we can save ourselves the trouble.

How can anyone take serious a permabull? Abby makes many women look like morons in the business, however there are many men too paid to be bullish always.
In the charts we are now equivalent to beginning of 1930, so two years from the bottom in this bearmarket. That bottom will be around 1500 for the Dow in 2011, if we extrapolate that chart (bottom in year 1932).

RE: increased tax burdens.

One man's burden is another man's charity. I don't know if anyone ever said it be fore, but if not I think I'll copyright it.

I manage my income such that it never goes above the minimal taxable level. I am not wealthy. I simply see no reason to work as a self employed type any harder than necessary to survive. When the effort becomes more than I'm willing to put out then I will stop altogether. I know others who share this attitude and intend to do likewise. Millions, potentially, will as well simply by aging into the mist.

None of the brilliant analysis I have read, and I may well have missed it, has factored in the sudden stoppage of the producers. We aren't a union, though we share many common interests. We have no franchise, no readily discernible place to point and say, "There, right there" as process of identification.

But when it happens it will be an earthquake.

Mr. Bonner,

Perhaps you were trying to point this out in your article and I missed it, but I would think that the Chinese are buying commodities to diversify their "monetary" holdings. The subjective valuations of individuals towards fiat money are shifting.
