i see your point about decimals, Bill - check the figures you gave for UK exports! $35,000 billion is the same as $35 trillion. Whoa - if the UK's exports are at $35 trillion, i don't think Messr's Brown or Darling would care much whether that figure is up or down year over year . . .

Near to the bottom of a well, everything "upwards" is an improvement.
We may be "near the bottom" but without jobs, (always a lagging indicator) and banks spending their windfall of American taxpayer dollars in treasuries, where is the "growth" going to come from????
It was easy for Bernanke to push interest rates to near zero..not much intellect or skill required....; it will be harder to raise those same rates when he has to "sop" up the enormous excess, IF and WHEN we get REAL growth which I personally don't expect for years...
The public is traumatized; disillusioned, and getting downright angry.
I also believe this is a "sucker's rally."

Keep up the good work, BB

It isn't myths like the parking attendant that will ruin you. It is the myths that the economy is recovering that will get you.

If Bush was still in office, the media would be calling this period the Greater Depression. But, because we have a black marxist in office, we get to read Newsweek and other impartial sources of news report that "the recession is over". Speaking of inflation, our state here, California, decided in its infinite wisdom that there is no inflation, we have deflation, so our dollars are MORE valuable, so there will be no CPI increase and we will all pay higher taxes next year because they will force taxpayers into each incrementally higher tax bracket faster. Thanks, California.

Harry is BB himself, teasing us...
The house of cards is still standing thanks to Treasuries spending like drunken sailors. When this pyramid-game will be over? 2011? That's my guess.
And then we will see Dow 1500, deflation and high interest rates (all risk-premium).
As who can still pay you back?

The biggest myth out there, is that the inflation rate is falling. The cost of gas is still high, I guess the boys at the oil refinery, didn't notice that crude is half the price, it was at its' peak.
If you are fine with Kraft dinner and wieners, food is affordable. But throw a few green peppers in your cart and your grocery budget goes out the window.
Phone, cable and other utilities have gone up in prices and here in the frozen north, we will soon get whacked with a HST (consumer tax). Fear not my fellow southern Reckoning readers, a tax will be coming your way soon too. Anyhow, there are numbers that geeky economist quote, then there is the reality that the rest of us live.
P.S. Have you notice how expensive parking in the city has become?

Dear Harry: I got your credibility right here.

Leave poor BB alone. He's suffering. And you, my good man, are unaware of his suffering.

Oh, and BTW: But the Evening Post can confirm the story, which has been emailed to thousands of people across the globe in recent months, is nothing more than an urban myth – and the real attendants say the joke is starting to wear thin.

You may want to check your sources before posting and old myth. What does that say about credibility??

Another 15-20% upside before any mild pull backs. I'm sorry but you've got this all wrong and you won't give it up. Oh well, at least you're sticking with your position. But I'm sure that'll change once growth is positive over a few quarters/years. But knowing you from this column, I doubt you'll ever change. Too bad.
