I agree with JMR’s analysis.
About Bill Jenkins’ comments: “Across the Eurozone riots and outbreaks of violence have been touched off by escalating economic problems and disagreements between members and neighbors.” I live in the Eurozone and it all seems pretty peaceful from my vany-tage point. However, the US seems to be in the midst of a lot of unrest. I also wonder why the whole Bill Jenkins section is not included in the French translation.

I like the beach boys.I like Corvettes and GTO’s. Nowadays the REALITY is ‘america’
has been co-opted. ‘America’ stands for the inside track of some elite financial/military/industrial complex type people.(i.e. fascist bastards)Its so sad.
Nowadays the strength of the american dollar is directly related to the need of the international community to have a reliable means of transaction. End of story. When (not if) an alternative is available the world will move on without the American dollar.

Regarding Paul Volker, Obama, shrewd as he was as far as obtaining the presidency, I believe he put Paul Volker on the team purely for political expediency (to gain votes). Back during the campaign, when I noticed Volker on the team, I thought, maybe he (Obama does have a lick of sense). Reality has now came back.
