I volunteer all of you genusis to work in some non union factory, railroad or utility. Then tell me how unions are so bad.
GM was run by committee for 50 years. They could not make a decision. When Pontiac was dying in the Fifties it was corporate mavericks who energized it. The union did not bury GM, suits did.
Walk in the shoes of a union worker before you run your ignorant mouths.

You don't understand or appreciate what workers do for a company. Fire them if they seek higher wages? Move to a cheaper location? You sound like a greedy banker who I don't think have human genes, of course you blame them for no accountability or oversight except you display the same when it comes to profits.

This piece is one of the best explanations of herd mentality and greed I have read. Perhaps what lies ahead is the only not boring thing happening in the US or the world for that matter. Its interesting to watch the fear that people show of the unknown future. Fear that actually only exists in the minds of people that think they have something to lose.

To post a comment not always works. Tried several times last weekend, but failed. Sth doesn't work properly here.
I said that for politicians and leaders, the end of capitalism is much worse then death, as then then luxury life ends as their modern slaves - the workers - will cause social chaos.
That's why they spend to death.

I believe Tony Bonn is saying is that the situation is WORSE than that graph would appear. I've never heard of "marginal productivity of debt" before. Any references? Sounds like a great device to throw into an argument.

Tony Bonn,

Do you work for the government?

I ask, because you sound like a union or gov employee. (That, is NOT a good thing.)

that graph may be attention geting but i will never tire of stating that it is the wrong graph.....the graph of real interest is the marginal productivity of debt which according to my sources is negative.....now you can look at the ratio of deficit to gdp and see how frightening it is....

and as an aside, i would note that gdp is not the number of interest - rather gnp should be the golden standard for economic activity....gdp, just like suspension of mark to market, is a lovely fraud to deceive.

and while i am ranting, i would argue that the deficit is a stupid meaningless number....the number of interest there is not the deficit because it is an artificial construct - rather what is the ratio of government spending to gnp?

and while i am really on a roll do we even really know how the government books expenditures? doesn't the government book highway costs as expenses when in reality they are capital projects? is a fighter jet really an expense? i doubt it.
