Chuck, after narrowly missing out on becoming the New Zealand Prime Minister in 2005, Don Brash is now chairman of New Zealand's productivity taskforce, charged with finding ways to lift NZ's living standards from their current woeful levels to at least those enjoyed by Australians. Among other directorships, he sits on the board of the country's largest banking group, the ANZ National Bank, and be is chairman of one of NZ's best performing wealth management funds, Huljich. His steady hand at the helm of the Reserve Bank of NZ over 14 years made him a local and international banking legend, and it was of great disappointment to many that he missed out by less than 2% on leading the nation in 2005 after a dirty campaign by his opponents. When it comes to economic management, his successor (current NZ PM John Key) is but a pale imitation.
