Howdy, folks. The problem with Big Business’s quest for cheap labour is that it is part of the capitalist system (You may read "The Accumulation Of Capital" by Karl Marx. He wrote a lot of crap, but that one is worth reading.). If it weren't, Big Business could easily choose to pay wages one can live on. And Scott may be right when it comes to old Bill, but then, isn't if fun to play with the bad guys, especially with those who dunno they are?

BB's prognosis of the economy, I believe is accurate.
But the way, we got into this bind, was because of Big Business's quest for cheap labour. Jobs got shipped overseas, driving down wages and making people poorer. People borrowed to maintain the same standard of living. And now, that easy credit is gone, we no longer, will be buying those made off-shore goods. The free-market has self-destructed. This is what happens when you deal with the devil. Capitalism has lost it's soul.

The economy was natural when communities/countries produced items the had the resources for and imported only those items they did not have, or lacked the resources to produce themselves. Today we import products we should produce ourselves. Our out-of-control government is to blame for this. Their quest for power has created a tax and regulatory system that has driven our manufacturing base and many other industries to other countries. Big government has never been the savior of countries, or economies just a plague that eventually leads to their destruction.

Cripes Scott, get a grip. As always, BB is trying to explain the way things are, not the way they should be. You have to live in the REAL world. Regards.

When was the economy natural? It looks like a contrived, artifical creation to me. BONNER must be talking about when we lived in small groups and traded back and forth.

Who will pay the debt? As always-the people at the bottom. Either through their labour or their life. (When we all go to war.) And as always the few will be talking about freedom and sacrifice and saving civilization while they partake in orgies in the safety and comfort of their castles. And of course they will profit royally.

BONNER is not good, as his name suggests. He's a junior devil creating a deception for all of us little people.

BONNER - In the end you will cast into the LAKE OF FIRE!

I struggled & made it out of debt over 20 years ago. My '95 Tercel had 107K miles when I bought it. I live in Cali. & can ride a bike almost all year. As an Animal House pledge would say: "This is GRREAT!"

Remember the days when we used to invest based on a company with an up and coming good product, or good earnings, or whatever? I can't remember the last time I've done that. All I do now is buy commodities, and sweat over it when I have to ride out these little downdrafts, and this is just to preserve purchasing power. I feel like I'm working so hard just to stay in place, like I'm fighting for my economic survival against my own govt.
