Thanks so much for your ever informative blog. I would, however, direct you to the one instance so far known of a centrally managed economy that worked, that of the Inka Empire in Peru/Ecuador (cf the NYTimes bestseller, 1491–a great read, and quite edifying). According to the author, the Inka realized a surplus under this system–without money or markets. Worth a look.

I thought the major difference between the capitalist system & the commie one was that the commies saved 40% of their income, and we didn’t? They had central government planners, we have corporate central planners. Except maybe our corporations are more Stalinist than the Russian bureaucrats were.
