Take a circle put a dot at the top, go far enough to the right or far enough to the left you end up in the same place. Human nature?

"All professions are but a conspiracy against the laity".

Good stuff Bill as usual

Thanks so much for your ever informative blog. I would, however, direct you to the one instance so far known of a centrally managed economy that worked, that of the Inka Empire in Peru/Ecuador (cf the NYTimes bestseller, 1491--a great read, and quite edifying). According to the author, the Inka realized a surplus under this system--without money or markets. Worth a look.

I thought the major difference between the capitalist system & the commie one was that the commies saved 40% of their income, and we didn't? They had central government planners, we have corporate central planners. Except maybe our corporations are more Stalinist than the Russian bureaucrats were.

And while you whine, my daily reminder that I tacked on another 4 bucks/share on AAPL. And, speaking of China, once the iPhone hit there....well you know the rest of the story.

Great, Kurt. Of all the quotes I've heard about communism, that's a new one to me. Thanks.

As Kenneth Galbraith once said, “Under capitalism, man exploits man. Under communism, it’s just the opposite.
