Apple is essentially a consumer products producer; whereas Caterpillar is a basic, modern economic component and necessary to the production of goods...not just "consumer services."

And, didn't Apple just make some large downward adjustments to it's price line of computers????

See, that's the rub....in this "market" you have to lay off people, cut prices, reduce inventories, less borrowing, lending...so what's left is the continuing manipulation of "end of quarter" figures; more "footnotes the the bottom line" etc., etc.

Even the "individualistic" view of John Galt couldn't survive realistically; Ayn Rand's group eventually had to "communalize" to survive....

The John Galt Solution is the only solution! Stop funding and forging your own chains and shackles.

Harry, you should go back to watching Jim Cramer and forget about your insecurities. Rake it in while you can...I for one am very happy for you. However, Bill is no more "calling" for this fall than you are calling the "V shaped" recovery. Calling a spade a spade is what I'd call Bill's perspective. Try debating some of his points rationally (which you obviously avoid) and see if you can knock any down...I doubt it.

Why do you continually call for this fall?? Obviously, this is going to be a V recovery. Already is. Why don't you just acknowledge that and get long equities?? I just don't get it.

Since I've been responding to your letters, I always mention my big long position in Apple. Well, gee whiz, I'm making money hand over fist as you continually call for doom.

It's easy. Open your eyes, the economy has turned quickly and caught the bears completely off guard.

"A man without credit might be a freethinker or even a troublemaker. But give him a mortgage and he will show up for work on Monday and vote in the next election."

Gems like this are why I never miss a column by Bill Bonner.
