War is a too easy target. Aim at the continual out stretched hands of too many Americans, believing in a free lunch. Even the employed are guility. Americans overvalue themselves and their “due”. Social programs breed more need for social programs. Why work hard when you can get it for free or at a deep discount. If you want to be “Fair” be fair to others not just yourself.

Bonner won’t be happy when “we” are boat people, but the current administration will. It will be so much easier to create jobs. Where will all the boats come from? Unionized workers? We’ll need a new beauracratic agency to regulate said boats and of course the “Acornesque” boat community organizers will have alot to do making sure everyone not just the hardworking (read selfserving by the leftist/statist)Bonners but everybody should have a boat wether they can “afford” it or not. My suggestion…. Roll up your sleeves and prepare for the backaching hardwork coming your way! Grow some food. Volunteer in your schools, churches and quit looking the government to fix all the problems they have created! The problem with “Tolerance’ is you have to put up with crimminals and loosers too.

I think the majority of Boomers will keep on working after retirement age. Not everyone wants to ease back in the rocking chair. Earning some extra bucks will help when inflation returns and starts to erode peoples’ retirement savings.
While I agree that consumption will be softer going forward, I know a lot of Boomers who plan on consuming and playing until “death do them part”.

I am one of your greatest fans, but please don’t nominate Warren Harding as one of our “Greatest Presidents.” Granted, he did nothing during the financial crisis, but, please–have you never heard of the “Teapot Dome” scandal? Harding was corrupt to the core, a failing of most 20th and 21st century politicians, because the Constitution had been abrogated very early in this nation’s existence (and no, I am not referring exclusively to the Civil War).

Harding was a one-term phenomenon specifically because he was as corrupt as the rest of the administration he appointed. We may well see something similar happening with the Obama Administration; at least one can hope so.
