Both Canada and U.S. are ex-British colonies. The British and the Americans organized the Canadian border to nip the Canadian brigate that was on their way to Washington to offer up an open trade policy with the Americans. The British were not ready yet to give up their little "trading post monopoly" in Canada so they killed the Canadian desire for a Continental open trade with the Americans. Today on CNBC the British were toting their "we are sammies" with President Obama. Boy that really smarts.
