'Perfect storm' is an over-used cliche', but never more applicable than now. What was unimagineable yesterday is today's reality. Up is down and red is green, and the rabbit hole Alice fell down has become a corporate suite.

When I learned last week that Thain had just spent 1.3 M on a washroom remodel for his office and 14k for a wastepaper basket in same office, I realized that truly, Wall Street stupidity (and greed) has no limits.
Thanks Bill for more reinforcement.

Bill, all true. And much previously said also true.

That's why America needs a real authentic true economic depression. It needs one real bad. To last until 2010. Because at this point 90% of the crap is still around. So much more crap need to be flushed down the toilet. The real 'hope' will not come from Obama, but when 90% of the toxins that have poisoned American society are removed. Then Obama, if he is smart, will stand up and take credit.

Hey Bill,

Let's all have a cup of Starbucks Joe. Their CEO has announced, in bracing for the downturn, to cut his salary in 09 to below $10,000...down from the $1.2MM he was compensated a year ago.

Make it the regular coffee though, that which is still relatively affordable amongst their product line!

Enjoyed the Madoff article by the way.
